Really nice cold soba. Great dish for summer.
Pork chop rice with egg is tasty. The pork chop can be better if not precooked.
Fried tofu shares the same issue, tofu is precooked and not crispy when served. But taste is ok with the sauce.
Curry rice smells so good even from the next table. Must try next time. -

Oh man, I am stuffed! Woo! I should probably go for a walk!
I love this place, it's so good. I went to Japan a few years back and I never need to go again because this little gem right here. If you're looking for sushi, read no further, seriously, I'm not a sushi guy, I'm all about that beef bowl! That soba noodle ramen! And that curry tongkatsu!! That's honestly the only three things I get over here and I can't really try anything else because when I look at that food, it looks at me back, and then love songs start playing. If you're looking for a good quick eat, kinda like Japanese fast food, take a seat. Don't be surprised! It's in a Japanese grocery store! All the more interesting. Every time I walk in here, I'm looking at the sample stations, like entertain me! It's like a Japanese Trader Joe's except I can't read a damn thing! But you know what, I still eat it. Getting side tracked. Get the food I mentioned, sitting in the car right now rubbing my belly like a grizzly bear that just ate a jar of honey. I'm coming back! -

Had my absolute favorites today - curry katsu, katsu don and agedashi tofu! I haven't had agedashi Tofu and this was amazing! Crunchy on the outside, perfect temperature on the inside, the sauce was not too salty, not to sweet! Sooo yummy! The curry katsu was good - could be a tiny bit more tender but it was flavorful. I always put the sauce on the side so it isn't mushy. My hubby and the kids demolished the katsu bowl. The place we usually go to gives you tempura crunch to put on top of the curry but I asked and the hostess was happy to give me a little. Sooo happy with our lunch! Definitely give it a shot!
PS food court was clean. It was full on a Saturday at noon but the tables open fast and it's cleaned up right away! -

Blame the constantly broken Bank of America ATM inside this Mitsuwa, but I would have never gone here if it weren't for that fateful event. My initial plan was to have some ramen at the *Cash Only* Santouka Ramen but I was hungry and wanted something to eat. Behold, credit card accepting, Musashiya and their Curry with Pork Cutlet. Believe it or not, the curry was actually pretty good and the cutlet wasn't dry at all. I ended up having that dish along with the takoyaki. The takoyaki was a bit too mushy and under-cooked for my taste but the curry dish saved the day. Would highly recommend, even if the ATM doesn't break down again.

The ONE time I don't check Yelp first, I decide to come here...
I want to be real for a moment: I do consider the fact that these restaurants and companies are owned by people grinding to make a living like the rest of us and I don't like slamming them with bad reviews.
But...
This place has been open for a long while now, and they have a ton of bad reviews and have not fixed or corrected themselves, so I'm sorry, but I can't hold back this time.
Musashiya has no business being inside a Mitsuwa. Mitsuwa's food vendors are usually pretty decent for fast, affordable food. This place just doesn't fit in. Honestly, it was some of the worst food I've ever had.
We ordered chicken and pork katsu -- the breading with thick and rock-hard. The chicken was either not fresh, or the oil was old, but both tasted gross. The rice was a mixture of too soft and hard kernels, and it tasted like it was cooked with California tap water; It was really BAD. The potato salad also had a funny flavor like the recipe was all wrong.
I'm not kidding we took two or three bites and decided just to put the meals in the trash.
Ladies and gentlemen trust me: avoid this restaurant at all costs because starvation is preferable.
Oh, and the cashier was super rude to us, which didn't help matters one bit.
